Commercial Real Estate & Land Investment
Investment real estate grew from a curiosity to a passion as Dean Thomas continued his academic studies in eastern Canada. In his early years, he eagerly followed the progression of raw land from concept to development, all the way through to final completion.
His formal education was completed in Champlain College in St. Lambert Quebec where he attained a DEC in Commerce. Immediately after graduation he became licensed as a Commercial REALTOR®. He began his career with Marzim Development in Montreal, handling commercial strata properties and and the development of retail shopping strips, within a year, was promoted to oversee the company's entire retail portfolio. A few years later Dean became an independent commercial real estate broker representing retail and industrial clients throughout eastern Canada.
After 20 years of brokerage, he refined his skill set in Tenant Representation and since has sold over 1,000,000 square feet of industrial space and more than 750,000 square feet of retail.
Dean Thomas has worked with several developers in the preparation of land parcels and new retail developments such as strip centres and shopping malls. Industrial Leasing American Legend, APEL Ideal Foods, Eastern Canada Operations, Retail Leasing Video Super Choix (12 locations), Tutti Frutti Breakfast Restaurants (14 locations), Elixor Restaurants, Sterling Steak House, SITQ Rosdev, Coger Retail Developers, RIOCAN Ivanhoe Cambridge, Smart Centres Center Corp Cadillac Fairview Profile, are just some of the many real estate transactions Dean worked on prior to arriving on the west coast.
Dean offers a breadth of real estate experience, knowledge and expertise. He is a model of professionalism and isn't afraid to make the difficult decision if he believes it will pay off in the end. A few of Dean's more recent commercial and residential real estate transactions assembled and sold are two acres of land on Canada Way, 24 individual homes on Bridge Street in Richmond and has assembled 51 homes in Norquay Village in East Vancouver for new redevelopment.
